Pearl rhythm festival follows suit, stages online festival
Online performances have proved to be the new routine ever since the government put a ban on public places and gatherings in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Just like club beatz at home and nyege nyege organized events online, pearl rhythm has also done the same and their first online festival dubbed “tuliwamu- we are one” is on Saturday 11th- july-2020.
Pearl rhythm festival happens every year and is organised by pearl rhythm foundation and for the lock down edition, artistes based in Uganda like Suzan Kerunen who also happens to be the executive director of pearl rhythm foundation, Msteto Nation, Kenneth Mugabi, Giovanni Kiyingi, Andereya Baguma and others will be performing live using local traditional instruments and sounds along side pearl rhythm musicians and stage coaches in the diaspora like e diaspora like Kinobe Herbert (USA), Sarah Ndagire Uk,, Aborigins Seby Ntege USA, Bernice the bell, Alzain ( Sudan Khartoum/ Institute France Soudan/ Goethe Institute Khartoum) and many others.
Sharing with the world, pearl rhythm organisers noted “We were locked but our core remained unlocked, art is spiritual. It knows no boundaries, that is why we are giving it out to you freely as we say Tuliwamu.”
