Ugandans living in United States of America (USA) under the umbrella of Uganda North American Association (UNAA) are set to vote their next team of leaders on Saturday Sep. 04, 2021.
Team Unity headed by Lydia Natoolo is set to take over power from team Action headed by UNAA’s current president Henrietta Nairuka Wamala.
Speaking to this Website, UNAA members revealed that they need Lydia Natoolo and her team to be their local representatives as they believe that her team will help UNAA members live better lives in the USA.
This will be through assisting in the preparation of legal paperwork on behalf of members to make sure their information presented is clear, correct, and consistent.
Team Unity is to interpret laws and make sure undocumented Ugandan immigrants in North America know their rights which include access to healthcare, insurance, job opportunities, education and public services.
The team will also find solutions for UNAA members going through deportation or removal proceedings.
Team Unity consists of; Lydia Natoolo as President, Albert Bakasara as Vice President, Maureen Asiimwe Kalema ESQ as Executive Secretary, Eric Gombya as treasurer, Ziada Nanteza as Youth Representative USA for females, Farouk Like as Youth Representative USA for males, Gladys Namirembe for new England, Mike Mukasa for South West Region, Zahra Namaganda for prairies region, David Ntambi for great lakes region, Fred Lubwama for Alberta region, Paul Nteyafa for Rocky Mountains region, Jacent Tamale for Pacific South 2, Martin Ntege for North Pacific Region, Henry Luyombya for Atlantic Region, Julius Mutekanga for mid Atlantic 1, Maria Kisumbi for Mid Atlantic 2 and James Mugeni for Central Plains.
UNAA is the largest non-political formal association of Ugandans in the Diaspora. Our organization aims to promote the social, cultural and economic development of the Ugandan Community in North America and beyond. The Ugandan Community in North America numbers over 120,000 individuals.
