Nigerian star Tiwa Savage last night proved to Ugandan female performers that it takes so much more than performing half naked to have the audience go wild. One has to feel their music too.
Savage who last performed in Uganda seven years ago toppled an all female performance from Uganda’s finest female emcees, dancers, DJs and musicians. She returned with an even more energetic performance singing back to back hits together with songs from her latest album. She came with her seven year old son Jamil Balogun.
The yo savage show performances which happened at Lugogo Cricket Oval were curtain raised by rain from the heaven above followed with Sandra Nansambu’s strong vocals. The next moment was highlighted by high end female emcees Viana Indi, Salta, miss Dedan among others.
Nansambu was followed by Jowe Landa who managed to have the audience dance to three of her coco man jams. The audience however did not feel Laika’s performance because of the unpopularity of the songs amongst the partiers.
Lamu’s beautiful performance was poisoned by her sense of fashion and erotic dance moves.
The revelers were saved by Sandra Suubi’s performance of Togwamu Suubi. Someone had to remind the audience that the best performances were yet to come. She climaxed her moment on stage with my daawa having party animals dance to kitagururo dance.
Sheila Salta and Indi’s energy was enough to save the night. It can now be announced that girls indeed run the world.
It was a moment for DJ Alisha who unfortunately had to continuously pull up her skimpy skirt everytime she left the DJ desk to tease partiers with a few dance moves.
Karole Kasita with her dancers came in with the usual performance. Vinka who has Soo many hit songs was forced by time to tease fans here and there.
Winnie Nwagi came ready to fire up the entire night. Her energetic performance would save the night. She also used the platform to ask Kampalians to mark September 9, 2020 with fire. Her record label finally decided to let her have a magic fire baby concert.
The King herself stepped in for a two songs performance that left fans yearning for more.
Dancers Mamweta, Sheila, and Ritah dancehall wide also got a moment. However, Salta and Indi’s dance moves and vibe still was un matched.
DJ Zato’s vibe lacked. It was Jay Brizzy the only male performer of the night who took Fans to Nigeria to fetch Tiwa’s keys to the party city.
Jay entertained with trending songs from Nigeria and it only proved that Ugandans are still connected to Niger artists. Ugandan musicians need to play the cards right.
Brizzy invited the queen of Afro beat for a rainy performance. Tiwa, who is Soo much attached to Uganda decided to do it like last time; dance barefoot! She moped the stage with the perfect performance worth every penny.
Tiwa felt every song. You could tell she is her own fan. With fans singing along from the first to the last in a rainy night, she performed someone’s son last. Mama Jamil ended her performance like a queen. A luganda tittle was given, Tiwa is the Nabagereka of stage!
