The famous Abeeka band is set to headline reggae life in the forest festival on 3, December, 2022 at Nyungu Yamawe forest in Kira.

The first edition of the festival according to the organizers has been dubbed “Qwom Qwom reggae life festival.”
The organizers of the festival revealed that Qwom is a musical instrument and it also means sharing information.
Addressing the press on 26, November, 2022 at Nexus bar in Kyaliwajala, Paul Edyau the event organizer said that Reggae is a powerful tool of communication.
“Some people think reggae music is only for the unserious people but no even cooperate guys enjoy the music. We promise a good festival and that is what we will be delivering,” he said
Qwom festival will be a one day event line up of workshops and culture seminars, camping, Art Exhibition, Food Village and all this while being entertained by cool reggae vibes alongside DJs like Roger and Jero.
This event comes as Uganda is being described as one that has grown musically across genres and most notably reggae, an attraction that needs to be celebrated and shared with the world.
This forest event is built to be a platform from which to boost the musical heritage of the country by showcasing the best reggae acts Uganda has to offer on a stage.
In terms of art, Edyau said that, music and art go hand in hand, and thus we are adopting a mode that will enable artists, painters, fashion designers to showcase at the event and thus add spice and color to it.
He revealed that the festival will attract hundreds of tourists both local and international periodically.
“The festival will be an added advantage to the country because it attracts tourists from all over the world,” he said
Adding: “We are thus building Reggae in the forest to be one of the key attractions to Uganda annually, providing a very fun and authentic reason to travel to Uganda for this reggae experience.”
