The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has scoffed at critics who dismissed them as a mere wave, noting that they will soon realise that they are a serious group, committed to leading the liberation struggle to its accomplishment.

On Tuesday the party unveiled a new site for the party’s headquarters in Kavule, Kawempe Division in Kampala. The party held a groundbreaking ceremony at the new site, treating the media to an artistic impression and architectural plan of how their new offices will look like.
The land that is situated at Makerere Kavule Kawempe division was purchased by the party to house their headquarters as Kamwokya-based offices were very small to accommodate the rapidly growing party.
Speaking to the media, Kyagulanyi reminded the masses not to lose hope, trust and their style of doing things which he said will soon lead them to the State House, adding that their critics have for long used discouraging words to their supporters.
“The things we continue to do are part of that process of liberating Uganda. Many people were doubting us; they were calling us a wave. Whatever you used to call us, I want to announce to you that we are here to stay. We started in Kamwokya, we are not leaving there, we are only expanding, “he said.
Kyagulanyi said the struggle to liberate Ugandans from what he described as the state of captivity is bigger than him as an individual, calling upon Ugandans to focus on the main mission.
“We are coming with different methods to ensure that we liberate this country. We have beaten their intelligence and that is why we are here. We are hard rock and we shall make it, “he said.
He lashed out at the National Resistance Movement for failure to build its headquarters after spending over 30 years in power.
“NRM has been stealing taxpayer’s money for the last 36 years. In 2015 they fundraised billions of money to build their headquarters. We don’t know what happened but as you know Museveni’s ways of doing, it is not surprising,” he said.
Kyagulanyi told the media that their style of doing things has enabled them to get land under the sleepy watching eyes of the regime and it’s the tactics he will use to unseat president Museveni from power.
