Ugandan celebrities have joined the rest of the world in commemorating the International day for woman, celebrated every March 8 (today)
They have appreciated and celebrated women who have broken the bias, advocated and practiced Gender equity.
Celebrated under the theme: Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow, creatives like Bobi Wine, Fun factory, Kenneth Mugabi among others have reminded women of their worth using their Social Media.

Bobi Wine revealed that he was proud to a woman’s son, husband and father. “As a proud product of a strong woman, I can only only feel complete by raising strong and noble women. A Happy International Women’s day to all the women out there who refuse to be held back by society’s stereotypical limitations. Loving them and giving them confidence in self. Reminding them every day that they’re just as worthy and deserving as boys and men.” He captioned a picture of him and his two daughters.
Nation Media’s Faridah Nakazibwe has reminded women of their worth, broken the bias and reminded them that all hardships that happen to women, happen because women are strong enough to come out as victors. “God knew women were the strongest and gave us the strongest battles.
Imagine the pains we have to go through every month for just being a woman. Imagine growing something in your belly for 9 months with all its challenges. Imagine giving birth, raising children, managing a family, yet still manage to go out there and compete extremely well with men for same opportunities! They never lied when they said “Abakyala Bazira (women are heroes)
“Dear Women, I’m always challenged that you face hardships with bravery and resilience. You are able to disarm your problems through your smile. As we join to the rest of the world to #breakthebias2022 , I promise to make more music that doesn’t only make you feel at peace but also fight for your plight. Happy Women’s Day,” said Kenneth Mugabi
“Women are the spice of life. We are blessed to have these particular beautiful women on the team. These are special women, brave women.
Art chose very many women in this country, but these are some of the very few who said yes. We thank them for diving into the deep end, when the promise was un-clear in our field…Now they are inspiring the new and coming generations of female creative artists.” Fun factory men appreciated their talented female actors
Sheebah: “Happy International Women’s Day To All The Bold Queen’s Consistently & Fearlessly Walking Towards Their Purpose Every Day! I Know Its Not Easy But Look How Far You’ve Come Queen You Got This. And Don’t Ever Forget To Give Yourself The Damn Flowers For Effortlessly Killing It!!”
