Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has urged Forum for Democratic change (FDC) members to Bridge all gaps between them and other forces fighting for change.
During the swearing in of FDC’s new members sitting on the national executive committee (NEC) at their headquarters in Najjanankumbi on Monday Afternoon, Lukwago who took his oath as the party’s Deputy President, Buganda Region said:
“Let’s build Bridges with other change seeking agents . I have discussed this with the party internally but since now I sit on table of men , I will continue advocating for it,”
Lukwago was elected by NEC members to execute the new role of deputy president Buganda Region on Friday, September 10th, 2021. He is replacing Owek. Naboosa Ssebugwawo who recently crossed to ruling party.
Naboosa is the former mayor Rubaga division Kampala who served two terms on the fdc ticket. She was defeated by NUP’s Mberaze Mawula and after her defeat, President Museveni gave her a Ministerial post as state Minister for ICT.
The Kampala Lord Mayor unequivocally accepted the nomination and appointment into that position and promised to elevate FDC to another level as he treasures mission and vision of the party.
” I am quite confident that I will do my best and the principal of the FDC will be my guiding tool as I go about my duties,” Lukwago added
FDC Secretaries who sit on NEC are elected in delegate conference , however this time round NEC was given powers to execute that duty to appoint acting members in those positions and deputy secretaries were being appointed by party president Eng. Patric Amuriat Oboi.
Others members who took the oath today are Hon Anna Adeke Ebaju as acting Deputy president Eastern region who replaced Hon Taaka kevina, Hajji Obed Kamulegeya as secretary in charge of Culture and religious affairs. He is son to Sheik Obed Kamulegeya commonly known as Sheik ‘Mukulu’ Hon Hassan kaps Fungaroo as acting secretary for mobilisation replacing Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneti who ceased to be member of FDC when she contested as independent mp Rukungiri in the concluded election though she lost and come third, Muwonge Daniel who contested in Nakawa Mayor race in the concluded election was elected Secretary for presidency who replaced Ismail Ssempijja.
Deputy secretaries are Makohal Mugenyi in charge of Internal affair , Former Lord Councilor Moses Okwera for Agriculture, Gorge Ekwaro mobilisation in charge of Northern region, Florence Kabugho conflict and reconstruction,Hamis Walusimbi Musoke deputy secretary in charge of Environment and Natural Resources, Nanyonjo Susan to deputise Hajji Obedi Kamulegeya for ethic , Cultural and religious affairs , And Hon Ochora Steven LC5 Chairman Serere to deputise Hon Adeke in charge of mobilisation Eastern region.
