The traffic police at Masaka Central police station has today (Saturday) morning registered a deadly accident which has claimed lives of five people. The accident happened at Kyarushowe swamp along the Masaka- Kampala highway

Faridah Nampiima, the Police Public Relations Officer of Traffic and road safety, says the accident which occured at 4:30am involved fuso fighter reg No UBH 902U and Toyota Wish reg No UBE 756 that was carrying five people.
The Fuso was traveling from Masaka side heading to Kampala. All the occupants in the wish died on spot
“The cause of the accident has been attributed to the driver of the Toyota wish who left his lane and moved to the lane of the fuso causing a head on collision killing five people who were occupants in the Toyota Wish.” She revealed
Police has identified the occupants as NO. 65577 PC Cleopus Bwesigye, a police officer attached to crime Intelligence department of Katwe Police station in Kampala, together with his family members, identified as Nyagoma silomena 3, Nyakato Falestine 3, Kiiza Darliton 1, Kemigisha Maria Gorreti, a female adult and Twesigye chripus aged 31.
The bodies have been conveyed to Masaka City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Police continues to caution all road users to be vigilant while using the roads and further call upon all road users to change their attitude while using the road.
