Police in Mubende have in custody five people in custody believed to be part of a group that has been participating in a series of robberies in Mubende Municipality, Mubende District.

The five were arrested through an intelligence-led operation that was carried out in Kibaati village, Kasana ward, East division, Mubende Municipality in Mubende district.
“Upon searching their residence, our officers recovered several house-breaking implements, a toy gun and two pairs of army uniforms which have all been exhibited.” Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson Rachel Kawala said.
The five suspects have been charged with being in possession of government stores, suspected stolen property and breaking implements.
The group had pending charges of aggravated robberies that had earlier been reported against them. Their names could however not be revealed for fear of jeopardizing investigations.
