The government of Uganda under the ministry of Gender, labour and social development has pledged to pay Sh. 100,000 to over 300,000 teachers in order to pull them out of the financial trend in which they had fallen following the closure of schools.
According to a circular released by the ministry to all chief administrative offices(Chaos) and the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority, all teachers in primary and secondary schools will be getting about sh. 100,000 each.
However, the ministry instructed all Head teachers of different schools to release payment ledgers of the previous month in order to know if these names were authentic.
Schools had been closed from 2020 till date. They are expected to be opened following the recent presidential address at the new year’s eve.
