Moriss Mugisha, the producer of the movie “Tembele”, which won three awards at the Uganda Film Festival on 3rd June, has revealed that he was pessimistic about winning any award at the festival.
He told a journalist that when he found out that the movie had been nominated under the same category as Movies such as Foot Wine, Nalwawo, and Bedroom Chains, he thought he was not going to win because all the movies were equally very good enough to take it.
“Honestly, I didn’t think it would win because other movies in the same categories were equally very good,” he said.
The producer said he was so overwhelmed when he learned that he had won because it was a surprise. He also noted that the other two awards; Best Supporting Actor in Feature Film and Best Actor in Feature Film were also a shock. He praises the Lord for the favour.
