Model and beauty queen Judith Heard has showed her dissatisfaction with the Tourism ministry at her return from the beauty contest dubbed Miss Elite Africa.
Having won the crown, she returned home with an unhappy heart saying that she tried getting help from minister Kiwanda Geoffrey Ssubi but she did not get any. She stressed that the ministry has ignored the fashion industry.
“The Tourism industry has ignored the fashion industry but I think these walk hand in hand. The ministry gave me nothing when I ran for this crown. I met Kiwanda twice but I still got nothing. They only come in when we have held the Ugandan flag high. They do not come in when we need them. We are waving the country’s flag high but they are not recognizing this…,”she said.
She also explained that the contest was a combination of achievements of women and the beauty.
“This was not all about beauty. There are many young ladies here who have beauty. It was about who have made achievements and had the beauty too. I have always fought against gender based violence and I have the beauty. I am 35 years old but I look like a 16 year old…,”she explained.
