The revival Church in Kawala that belonged to the late Pastor Yiga is facing ups and downs after a city creditor known as Kayinda Ssemakula obtained a court order from High Court Judge, Justice Juliet Hatanga, giving him authority to sell off the land to pay back his money, of about 150M which he had given to the late Pastor as a loan.

According to sources from the church, the late Pastor used the loan to set up his media empire made up of ABS Television and Radio. Since his death, the media empire has slid back into debts and was once rumoured to be sold.
“I think he got the money and started the TV. And that was a good move from him. I do not know if the TV is making enough money to pay the loan. But let’s just pray, Jesus is our Lord,” one of the congregants said.
“It will be so bad if the church is sold because this would give the devil victory,” she added.
The 150M that the creditor demands doesn’t include the court costs and other charges. These costs could rise to about 200M yet the property is reported to be valued at 180.
