Former supreme Muft Sheikh Silaman Kasule Ndirangwa has tasked the newly elected members of parliament to fulfill promises they made to their voters.
During his Eid Ul adha sermon at his home in Konge Makindye, Ndirangwa asked the Legislators to pass laws that benefit the common man.
“People trusted you with their votes, they lifted you to where you are, pay them tabling motions, pass laws that benefit the common man’s cause.” He said
The country is going through a trial because of the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic but many MPs have chosen to be silent.
At the moment, Ugandans are disappointed in their leaders as they expected them to pressure the government for everyone to benefit from the COVID relief fund.
Since the second wave of the lockdown began, voters had high expectations with belief that their legislators would table motions requesting Landlords to scrap off rent areas of these months they stayed home.
