Female dancehall sensation Cindy a.k.a Cindy Sanyu has been endorsed by Bebe Cool a.k.a Moses Ssali in the upcoming Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) presidential elections.

In an interview, the self-proclaimed Big Size hinted that the only candidate that is worthy of support is Cindy whom he believes can elevate the association to global music fronts. He asked musicians in Uganda to give another chance to the boom party hitmaker.
“Cindy is the right person for the job. She has all the credentials. She has done an incredible job with her team. Finally, UMA is now recognized by all the important stakeholders in the country. Musicians must give her the mandate to accomplish the job she started. She is my candidate, no doubt,” he said.
Before he endorsed Cindy, he first gave support to Maurice Kirya who showed interest in the race but later pulled out because he was uncertain whether he would be available for the campaigns and elections.
Cindy is competing against King Saha(Mansur Ssemanda) who was endorsed by National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine). The wave from Bobi Wine’s camp has since gone to King Saha’s side.
According to Bebe Cool, King Saha’s personality and English fluency can not enable him to lobby for the Ugandan industry from global lines. He feels that Cindy has such an advantage over him.
“Being president involves constant lobbying, interacting with the different stakeholders that include government. We need a president who can speak English for starters. I only see Cindy as the right candidate,” Bebe Cool explained.
The UMA elections are slated for this month even though the exact date has not been publicized. It is on such grounds that some musicians have criticized the outgoing leadership.
