The territorial traffic police at Kayabwe has today morning registered an incident of fire at a place called Jandira Kayabwe Town Council in Mpigi district along Kampala/ Masaka highway.
According to ASP Faridah Nampiima, the police Spokesperson on traffic and road safety, the car which was headed towards Masaka from Kampala, allegedly developed a mechanical fault and smoke began fuming from the engine.
This prompted the driver to park off the road upon being alerted by other motorists.
“Efforts by the locals to put off the fire went futile and the car burnt to ashes
The incident happened at around 8:40 am,” she said
Police has identified the vehicle as range Rover sport blue, reg no. UAS 066Q and was driven by Emorut Joshua Egweu, a resident of Mutungo, Nakawa division in Kampala.
