Musician turned politician Hillary kiyaga a.k.a Dr Hilderman has embarked on renovating Tamac roads in Mawokota North constituency to improve on the region’s transport services.
The legislator recently answered Muduuma residents’ prayers when he bought water trunks and cements to renovate the roads that connect Jjeza town to Nvuba in Muduuma town council, Mpigi district.
“The road has been in bad shape, apart from bodaboda but vehicles couldn’t cross from Jjeza to Nvuma which hindered our movements and transportation of agricultural produce to the near by town” Council Francis ssedyowa, Councilor representative, Muduuma Subcouty in Mpigi district said.
It should be noted that the bigger percentage of Muduuma residents are farmers who earn from selling agricultural produces.
The Zungulube hit maker also participated in community work with Muduuma Subcounty chairman Musa Kakembo, Councilor Ssedyowa, Councilor Kimuli Angelo, Councilor Mavin and locals, saying leaders should serve as example to people they lead.
“….. Though it’s not in our jurisdiction as Member of parliament to renovate roads but I can’t see my people suffer and I don’t help, we shall be helping our selves as we wait for central government to respond” Mp Hillary Kiyaga said .
Many roads in Mawokota are in bad shape and badly need water trunk, the Subcounty is bordered with swaps at all sides.
Kiyaga is serving his first term in parliament having defeated Amelia Kyambadde of NRM who represented that area for two terms.
