After the president’s directive of emptying schools during his presidential address on 6th May,2021,most of the schools in the country are now empty.
Taxi parks and Bus parks all over Mbale have been occupied by a number of students with their luggage trying to get their way back home.
In Mbale schools appear like there has never been any students before.Parents have been emptying up schools, taking their children home while students have been seen carrying their bags,books and those in hostels boarding taxis back to their home areas and villages.Nkoma Secondary school premises were seen empty and free of students, teachers and parents at around 2:pm.
This school is estimated to be the most populated secondary school in Mbale with over 5000 students.Besides Nkoma, other schools like Mbale SS,University Link high school, Mbale progressive ss and primary schools like Nabuyonga p/s,Grace p/s,Nkonkonjeru p/s,Wanambwa p/s, institutions like Mbale school of nursing, CCP, among others were also noticed closing up.
