The State Minister of Gender and Culture, Peace Mutuuzo has highlighted the need for Uganda and Africa to have an official language.

“We need to get something that defines us as Africans and we get moving as a block. The more we remain small minority clan, tribe, region, religion, the less we would get to move together as a force,” she said
The Minister made these remarks during the launch of the Fourth Heritage Initiative at the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC).
She asserts that Africa has a big population meaning there is bigger market for the products.
“We are about 1.2 Billion people in Africa so whatever we manufacture has a market. If we can organize ourselves and identity ourselves as Africans and start from where we are,” she added
