Kampala Central legislator Muhammad Nsereko has urged Buganda Kingdom and her officials that were attacked by Turkey based Ugandan blogger Fred Lumbuye to be cautious of all people sympathizing with the arrested blogger.
Lumbuye was reportedly arrested in Turkey by unknown officials and is wanted Uganda for spreading hateful information against the ruling government of Uganda. The toxic blogger is also behind bad mouthing the queen of Buganda and announcing the death of Buganda King; His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.
After his arrest, Robert Kyagulanyi, the leader of National Unity Platform and a section of bloggers started advocating for the rights and freedom of Lumbuye.
“…We all must be very concerned about this development, because as we know many Ugandans only feel safe to criticize the regime in Uganda from a safe distance in countries abroad. The government of the world ought to protect the rights of political dissidents and exiles who have sought refuge in their countries. Ugandans abroad ought to feel safe,” Robert Kyagulanyi said.
According to Muhammad Nsereko, Lumbuyo has been inciting terrorism, hate speech and promoting sectarianism. He says that all personalities that have posted about Lumbuye’s freedom are the people that have been supplying fake information and promoting terrorism through Lumbuye and his fellow bloggers.
He wonders why Lumbuye sympathizers never came out to silence Lumbuye when he and blogger Sudi magezi when they came out to say that some political actors like Dr. Kiiza Besigye, Betty Nambooze, Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda and Muhammad Nsereko need execution. He adds that Lumbuye backers also never came out to stop him when he was tarnishing Buganda Kingdom’s reputation.
“And now you’ve known their backers. Let this be an eye opener to the people from Mengo. You have seen those that have posted him calling him a human rights activist are the same hypocrites telling him to insult you. They have been behind all these insults because the beneficiaries of these insults were them,” He said through a Facebook live on Wednesday evening.
”We cannot keep quiet. You use propaganda. You have no right to call for the murder of other political players and when you are arrested, you pretend to say you’re a political activist. You’re not a political activist, you are a terrorist. These are people running terror cells” He added
Hon. Muhammad doesn’t agree with extraditing and imprisoning Lumbuye. He believes in paying fines. He added
“I don’t agree with imprisoning. They must pay for the damages they have done. Anyone who publishes anything false must pay from their pocket… And a law must come on electronic bullying.”
