Faded singer Maureen Kabasita popular for the akasengejja song has sued Entebbe based business man Captain John Kasami Kakyo for denying her access to their child and beating her.
During an interview with Bukedde TV, the former lead girl at water front beach Entebbe’s fusion band revealed that besides beating her on Friday, November 19, for asking for her child and also refusing to leave without the child, Kakyo removed car tyres from a car he gifted her while she was inside.
Kabasita says she would rather stay with the child than have no access at all.
” I reported to police and he defied police orders of going to the station. My friends went and meet him in a place he had directed them to. That wasn’t a good move and I would have stuck at the police station but I did it for the sake of my child. I also went to his place with belief we would reach an agreement,” she said.
The two started their relationship as boss and artist. According to Maureen, she chose the relationship for her career and now she is regretting.
“Since he was my boss, there was no way I would say no because I believed it would help push her career.” She said
This is not the first time the business man has been caught in children scandals. In 2015, DNA results had to force him care for a child he had refused to acknowledge.
