Let’s talk about local film, shall we?
The local industry is one that is growing in leaps and bounds, think about a time they used the Nigerian blueprint to make films and put together storylines. Something that had its own pitfalls, many of the stories developed lacked depth and even when the Nigerian industry improved, it has taken the Ugandan counterpart to stand toe to toe with it.
This year however, things are starting to look brighter, for instance, Loukman early this year was in Nigeria for the making of Brotherhood, yet in other news, a Ugandan film was also being made.
Aptly titled Kafa Coh, this is Uganda’s first legal drama and they are taking no prisoners.
Starring British-Nigerian actor Kalu Ikeagwu, the film Kafa Coh is highly billed as Uganda’s first legal thriller. The producers are still tight-lipped about the contents of the story but at least our sources can confirm that there is a stellar cast joining the Nigerian actor.

Veteran actors Mariam Ndagire, Abby Mukiibi, Michael Wawuyo Snr and Charles Mulekwa among others are all part of the cast. Doreen Mirembe, the producer and also one of the cast members says the film will be at the cinemas for at least a week, another first for a Ugandan film.
Kalu is a Nigerian actor who has taken on iconic roles in films such as Lionheart alongside Genevive Nnaji, Badamasi, Three Thieves and The Women among others.
