National Resistance Movement- NRM’s candidate Andrew Muwonge has been declared winner of the Kayunga LC 5 by-election by Electoral Commission- EC returning officer, Ms Jennifer Kyobutungi.
He garnered 31,830 votes against National Unity Platforms- NUP’s Harriet Nakaweede’s 31,380. Out of the 66, 276 total votes, 65, 332 were counted, 947 were rejected and 91 were considered invalid.
Andrew Muwonge replaces chairman Ffeffekka Sserubogo whose body was found hanging on a tree in June.
