The Grade III magistrate court in Masaka has remanded legislators Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West to Kitalya prison for seven days after being charged with 4 counts, 3 of murder and 1 of attempted murder.

The two are accused of being responsible for the machete Killings happening in greater Masaka region which have claimed over 27 people’s lives.
The duo was last week summoned to appear before Masaka Police on Monday by the Director Criminal Investigations in Police, Paul Katto Tumuhimbise to record their statements.
They arrived at the station with lawyers Erias Lukwago and Shamim Malende on Monday and were set free on police bond after being questioned only to be detained on Tuesday and remanded to Kitalya.
