Betty Nambooze Bakileke, the Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament believes that Uganda’s opposition parties cannot work together, even though they all want the same thing.

During a discussion on a national TV show, Nambooze stated that all opposition leaders want praise and credit, which is why they can’t fully focus their energy.
“The problem in the opposition is about who takes the credit. That’s why they can’t unite. We should ask ourselves where do we want to go as a nation? NUP and FDC are the same; they are all fighting for the same cause. The only problem is that they have different leaders,” she said.
She also compared opposition political parties to a religion in which believers devote a lot of energy together only when insulting Satan.
“All opposition parties can’t be united. It is just like Christians; they are only united in insulting satan. It’s like a mistake to continue repeating mistakes. Let us give ourselves time to look into things we can jointly do together ” she added on.
Nambooze, on the other hand, hinted at her blockage by authorities of launching her book, which she had planned to do on Liberation day. The event was blocked, and she was told there was only one event that day where the president was.
