The territorial Police in Mayuge district has in custody, a brother-in-law, identified as Muzahamu Mulidho 27, a boda boda rider of Mpirabira village/parish, Butakube sub-county, in Mayuge district for the allegedly assaulting, torturing his sister-in-law, Robian Ndibogeza 21, and abducting her 3 weeks old baby.

The incident happended four months ago and was captured on video that circulated on social media with many people showing concern for the woman.
Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson explains that the victim gave birth to her Baby on August 13 and after 3 weeks, she got a misunderstanding with her brother in law, who claimed she was mad and took her 3-weeks old child from her.
“The following day, at around 11am, the victim was going to her husbands’ home to pick her child and the immunisation card. When she reached Buwerere trading center, a quarrel ensued between her and her brother in law, who vowed never to hand over her child. Out of anger, the victim picked a sugar cane and hit her brother-in-law, who aggressively responded and viciously assaulted her. He further attacked the victim, after she had left the scene and seriously assaulted her again,” Enanga reveals
According to Police, the victim and her real husband are living separately and have two children. The elder child stays with the mother and the 4-month old child, is in the custody of the father.
Police advises further advises families to take lawful steps of obtaining custody of their children from court, including visitation rights.
