The Director of Criminal Investigations in police, Paul Katto Tumuhimbise has summoned two members of opposition Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West to police over matters of the ongoing killings in greater Masaka region.

Through a letter dated September 3 addressed to the two legislators through parliament, Allan and Ssegirinya are expected to appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday September 6 at 10am before D/SSP Moses Taremwa to record statements.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigation is investiging some murders that took place in Greater Masaka during the Months of July and August 2021.
This Serves as summons for you to appear at Masaka Police station on Monday 6th September 2021 at 1000 hours before D/SSP Moses Taremwa for a statement in respect to the said investigations.” Reads both letters of summon.
Over 27 people have been killed in greater Masaka region since July.
It should be noted that President Museveni and Minister Chris Baryomunsi earlier attached the Murders to politicians who want to tarnish the image of the government.
