Kampala Resident City Commissioners requested to meet the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Lord Erias Lukwago a few hours after he had dragged them to court for misuse of power and illegal evacuation of street vendors.

In his submission, he sought judicial review on directives of the Minister for KCCA, Kyofatogabye Kabuye, prohibiting all unregistered Boda Bodas from operating in the Kampala Metropolitan Area. He wants the court to issue an injunction to stop the implementation of the directives.
Well, a few hours later, RCCs asked to have a roundtable discussion with the Lord Mayor. Anderson Burora, the RCC Rubaga Division revealed that he had written to the Lord Mayor requesting a meeting.
“We have requested the lord mayor to meet with the RCCs to harmonize on what seems to be bad yet we all are moving in the same direction. No campaign is going to stall or stop, this means that the registration and training will continue,” Burora said.
Well, now that we know who is the boss, let’s wait and see who wins over Kampala. Over the years, the public thought the Lord Mayor had absolute power over the city but with the Ministry of Kampala in place, it seems that these powers were chopped. A court case in this line would be food for the hears and eye.
