“There are powers in the world bent on hiding the truth and perpetuating ignorance by simply repeating lies, hiding the truth or refusing to publicise the facts of what’s going on. The Palestinian suffering has been going on for a long time, yet in many Ugandan villages, except on the rare chance that a Khatwib will mention and pray for Palestine during their sermon. Majority of our rural communities have never heard of Palestine or the injustices and betrayals done to it with the complicity of the civilized world. I would like to call on you to make the subject of Palestinian suffering a subject at meal times, fireplace stories and other social engagements so that we do not forget that the Lion that eats the next door neighbor will make a meal of you the next time it passes your way.”
He called upon Africans and African Muslims to normalize solidarity visits to Palestine so that they get to experience Palestine at firsthand.
Quds day is an annual celebration that started in 1979 by Imam Khomeini, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and it is celebrated every last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
