Startling news reaching our desk is that a senior Four student at Wanyange girls Senior Secondary School committed suicide inside the school dormitory on Tuesday (Today) Morning.
It is alleged that Josephine Namuli 17, hang herself to death with a rope that was found on her bed.
Kiira Region police spokesperson, ASP James Mubi, confirmed the incident and said that the cause of suicide is yet to be established as police had investigating the incident.
He attributed the suicidal act to family problems or relationship stress and cautioned the community against taking their own lives as this can never be a problem solver for anything.
The Police PRO further urged school owners to be vigilant and always carry out regular checks in school dormitories to look out for barred items like ropes and drugs that may be smuggled into the dormitories.
The deceased’s body was taken to Jinja regional referral hospital for postmortem.
