The elections for the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) that were slated for today are being criticized for starting late. The polls were supposed to start at exactly 9 am but instead started at 10 am.

The Electoral Commission( EC)chairman Geoffrey Jeff Ekongot attributed the delay to the high traffic that slowed down the system hence leading to failure.
“We were supposed to start at 9 am but due to system Failure, we started at one 10 am. This was caused by high traffic. We had not tried the system with such a huge number of people and that is why it showed down.” He explained.
He, however, promised that the voting will take place despite the failure in the system.
” They are still going on. Starting late can not be an excuse for is to cancel them. If there is anything that has happened, we are going to let the media know. It will continue until 5:00 am…,” He said.
