In the struggle to control environmental degradation and as increasing the energy resources in the country, Uganda has partnered with the UK for foreign support.

Through the Ministry of Environment, Uganda has so far received resources worth 100 million Euros which is equivalent to 394,931,845,583.47, (Almost 400 billion Ug shs).
“Climate change affects the common person so we need to make sure that resources reach the common person. All the resources we are implementing are targeting the common person.
We have received resources of about 100 million Euros for solar power and water supply projects all over the country. We are turning boreholes into solar pumps.” Dr. Callist, Commissioner Ministry of Environment.
The UK high commissioner Kate Airey while on national TV, stated that they will continue to venture more into Uganda’s green economy which will eventually increase the country’s GDP.
” This kind of jobs we are looking at within the green growth economy are green energy, electricity generation, green transport, green industry. We are looking at irrigation systems that are climate-friendly.
This green economy delivers opportunities for Uganda. It will create an additional 4 million jobs for Ugandans and 10% to Uganda’s GDP as a measure of growth beyond business as usual, ” UK High Commissioner to Uganda.
