Two children have been confirmed to have died in a fire incident that happened on Thursday, March 10, at around 9PM in Kifamba zone, Makindye Kampala city.
Police investigations show that the deceased; Babirye Nabaka 4 and Karim Ssembatya 2 were locked by their mother Farida Nanono in her single room to go fetch water.
“Unfortunately, a fire started and the two children were burnt beyond recognition. The police fire prevention and rescue services responded at the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.
Their remains have been conveyed to city mortuary Mulago as investigations go on, Assistant Police Spokesperson in the Kampala Metropolitan area, Luke has Oweyesigire revealed.
