The United Arab Emirates has temporarily suspended flights from Uganda to Dubai until further notice, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) had confirmed.

In a statement issued by UCAA, incoming flights from Dubai are still free to operate.
“UAE Authorities have temporarily suspended flights from Uganda to Dubai until further notice. Incoming Emirates flights from Dubai are still operational. Passengers planning to travel to Dubai are advised to keep in touch with their respective airlines for guidance on any changes in the restrictions,” Reads part of the statement.
“The restriction is also applicable to transit passengers who have been in Uganda within 14 days prior to entry to Dubai.The restriction is however not applicable to inbound/outbound freighter operations.” The statement continues.
Uganda joins Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Nigeria to the list of African countries that were restricted by the UAE authorities on December 25 following the rising number of people infected with covid-19 Omicron variant in the UAE.
