The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has called upon Ugandans to pray for the hearts of terrorists disrupting the Nation’s peace.
Using the bible verse Ezekiel 36:26, that says ‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh,’ as reference, Kaziimba urged Ugandans to stick to prayer so that God softens the terrorists’ hard hearts.
“I urge all of us to pray to God to turn hearts of the perpetrators from hearts of stone to hearts of flesh. To pray for them to be convicted of their sin and repent of their evil ways and turn to the Lord,” He said in a press release on Tuesday.
Rev. Kaziimba’s remarks follow two suicide bomb explosions that happened on Tuesday Morning in Kampala. The blasts claimed six lives and more than thirty three people survived with injuries. Three of the deceased were confirmed to be suicidal attackers.
He gave his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, sympathized with the injured and also, advised Ugandans to be strong in prayer for the country.
“Let us all pray for peace for our country and refuse to let fear consume us,” He emphasized.
