The Kampala city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has urged Ugandans to put much emphasis on wearing face masks, hand washing and sanitizing as the major standard operating procedures in preventing the COVID-19 virus.

” Let’s put emphasis on hand washing and sanitisation.” He said
” The drive towards mass testing and vaccination should also be boosted as we equip our public health facilities and accredit competent private hospital for case management. Curfew, lockdown, bodaboda cyclists registering passengers, staggering academic calendar, stopping people from coming to Kampala and Wakiso etc are no longer tenable and shouldn’t feature in the new measures to be announced.” He continued
Lukwago has also shown concern and worry after the publication of the much hyped COVID 19 National Task Force intervention agreed upon in a previous meeting that happened yesterday being postponed to Sunday.
