Dance Fest Ug, a much anticipated movie about dance premiered yesterday, at Cinemax Century at Acacia Mall.
The movie’s premiere was officially launched by the state minister of Information, Technology Communication and National Guidance, Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo who urged Filmmakers to prioritize movies that involve the youth and the girl child.
“Thank you Dance Fest Ug for using film to gather the youth and make use of their talents and potential.” She said.
The minister also promised to give support to the Dance Fest Foundation which put in the efforts to finance the movie.
It was a red carpet event that gathered several stakeholders in the industry including producers and directors.
The movie was was inspired by a true story about a child-headed family struggling with life’s basic needs that learns of an opportunity to participate in group dance competitions for which the prize money is a life-changing dream. The Challenge gets tough for them when one of the uptown best crews’ takes it personal. It was produced by Kabamba Brendah and directed by Mugabe Lawrence.
