Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is investigating circumstances under which 23 pupils from St Christine Primary School missed writing the PLE Mathematics paper on Tuesday Morning.

These were supposed to write their exams at Mpasana Primary School in Kakumiro because their school does not have a center number.
On the fateful day, the pupils woke up as early as 6am, all fired up to sit for their final Primary Living Examinations (PLE). MR. Pascal Asiimwe, the director of St Christine Primary School in Kakumiro District in western Uganda, where the pupils studied, had promised to return with a van to chauffeur them to Mpasana Primary School but he never returned.
The desperate pupils in company of their teachers decided to trek the 15 kilometers to the registered school only to reach one hour and 16 minutes late. They were denied entry into the Mathematics paper.
In a later dated November 11 by UNEB Dan Odong, the UNEB executive Director says that the education body is aware of the matter that 23 out of 26 candidates of Mpasana Primary School in Kakumiro missed writing the Mathematics paper on November 8, 2022, the first day of the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).
“UNEB is consulting with the District Education Officials to ascertain the circumstances under which the learners missed the examination. The Board is also scheduling a meeting with the District Officials on this matter, after which, an appropriate decision will be made,” he said
