The US embassy in Uganda has suspended interviews for visas after a spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.
On 7th January 2022, the ministry of health announced that the has been an outbreak of the third Covid-19 wave.
Talking to the press, Anthony Kujawa, the US Embassy spokesperson in Kampala, Anthony told the nation on Friday that visa interviews had been temporarily been suspended to curb the spread of Covid-19.

He claimed that the embassy is still handling emergencies and visas of students and will soon reopen for others when the Covid-19 threat decreases. He clarified on those that were already having interviews and said that notifications had been sent of them.
According to the ministry of health, Covid-19 Cases are rising day by day despite the reopening of the economy on New Year’s Eve.
Many other international businesses have been halted following the announcement. Dubai stopped all planes from Uganda but later opened up a few days ago.
