The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) elections that were held yesterday at the National Theatre were canceled prematurely after the Electoral Commission EC chairman Geoffrey Jeff Ekongot said he had stopped them.
According to Jeff, the situation was unbearable because candidates had complained of system failure.
“I have decided to cancel this election because members of the association expressed their dissatisfaction with the electoral process,” Chairperson Electoral Commission Uganda Musicians Association,” Mr. Ekongot announced.

Erias Lukwago, the lawyer of King Saha said the team gave in their queries after they suspected vote-rigging and system breakdown.
“We can not hold online elections and this is even visible today. The system failed multiple times and people could not vote,” he said.
The team from King Saha protested against the election which had gone in favour of Cindy Sanyu. As chaos erupted, the voting was stopped.
